On 14th July the club championship took place, first contested for in 1895 it is our clubs oldest competition. The players who took part qualified the week previously.
Winner of the qualifying and winner of the Ralph Plant net trophy was Mark Buss who shot a stunning 64 gross for a net 60. A superb round of golf that unfortunately will not stand as a new course record due to the preferred lies we are still playing.
As for the main event and despite some great golf played by Dan Buchanan & Simon Isted, there was only going to be one winner of the Championship. Mark Buss, last years champion defended his title in fine style with scores of 73 & 71 for a level par 144. A great effort on a day when we were blessed with great weather again. Well done to all who took part and congratulations to Mark, a worthy champion in our 125th year.
