The Club was founded in 1893 and in 1908, James Braid, 5 Time Open Champion designed the downland course to basically what we see today. In recent years, 2023 – 2025, we have engaged with James Edwards (Edwards Design International) to renovate the course to modern standards. The course remains playable throughout the year due to being built on chalk and it highlights include the superb views of Brighton and the surrounding areas.
We welcome people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to the Club. Whether you want to are a seasoned player or just starting out in the game. East Brighton provides a challenge for all levels, whilst the historic cosy clubhouse is the hub for all social occasions.

East Brighton Golf Club is a Registered Community Amateur Sports Club and are committed to promoting participation in the sport of Golf at our club. We therefore welcome members from both the local Community and surrounding areas and are pleased to offer an inclusive, annual subscription option, which allows the participant to play Golf on specify days of the week.
Community Members can attain a handicap and compete in club competitions, attend the club’s Social and Members’ events and vote at meetings without restriction. This CASC Community Membership offer is only available to those on Low to Modest incomes. Applicants will be asked to provide supporting evidence of income status to the Management Committee upon application.
